What Is Prism Resources?

Prism Resources is an on-campus organization housed within the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. We provide technology rentals, training courses, and study and collaboration spaces for our members. Our mission is to ‘bridge the gap’ between technology and students by providing resources that enable our members to excel, both during their time at Laurier and beyond. We offer a wide array of equipment available for rent – from iPads to projectors to DSLR cameras, and everything in between. Our course offerings provide unique training opportunities for students to upgrade their abilities, pursue a new hobby, or learn skills essential in today’s competitive workplace. We also provide study spaces for our members to use in Lazaridis Hall. To inquire about membership or to take advantage of our services, please visit us at our Member Service Desk in LH1014.

Our Story

Founded in 1991, Prism Resources began as a tech-share service aimed at helping students access resources that would otherwise be beyond their reach. Prism Resources labs were opened on campus, and the technology provided was far more advanced than that available to students elsewhere at WLU. A few years later, Prism began offering training services to allow its members to learn how to use industry-related software at an affordable rate. Prism also grew to include study spaces for members to use. Today, Prism continues to operate upon those three main pillars: rental services, training courses, and study spaces. As technology continues to develop, we are constantly updating our rental fleet and course offerings to include the most relevant technologies for our members. We continue to help ‘bridge the gap’ between technology and our members.
