Job Summary 
The Coding and Microsoft Office Instructor is responsible for teaching VBA, Coding and the Microsoft Suite to BTM students with varying degrees of knowledge. The instructor is expected to thoroughly understand and teach the predetermined module(s) to the class, while consistently monitoring the course content to ensure that all concepts are in alignment with industry standards. Training solutions have to be tailored to fit the participants’ needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of programming languages: SQL, Python, HTML, CSS, VBA
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access
  • Train BTM students on Coding and Microsoft Office using already existing training modules provided by Prism Resources
  • Assist the Training department with developing further coding and Microsoft Office related training courses to add more value to Prism Resources services.
  • Develop a systematic approach to better understand BTM students, so Prism Resources can continue to provide maximum value.
  • Attend weekly training meetings via Skype

Job Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Applied experience using VBA particularly in MS Excel
  • Have in-depth knowledge around Visual Basic for Excel
  • Experience and familiarity with SQL, Python, HTML and CSS is an asset
  • Have proven technical skills in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Technological background or extensive experience in computing is an asset

It is not expected that all applicants have a thorough understanding of each coding language and software, but each applicant must be willing to learn the softwares outlined above. Training will be provided.

Average # of Hours/Week: 8-10

Salary: $15/hr

Job Summary
The Nielsen Instructor is responsible for delivering the Nielsen Education Program to Prism Resources members with varying degrees of knowledge. The instructor is expected to thoroughly understand and teach the predetermined module(s) to the class, while consistently monitoring the course content to ensure that all concepts are in alignment with industry standards. Training solutions have to be tailored to fit the participants’ needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Master the Nielsen Analytics platform
  • Train Prism Resource’s members on the Nielsen platform
  • Assist with Excel for Co-op training courses as required- Aid the rest of the team in running training related events throughout the term

Job Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Applied experience with the Nielsen (from a co-op or other work-related experience)
  • Must have Microsoft Excel knowledge or is willing to learn
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Previous teaching experience is an asset

Average # of Hours/Week: 8-10

Desk Operations Manager (Waterloo)

The Desk Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Member Relations in running the Member Services department. This individual is also responsible for promoting inter-departmental communication between the Member Relations and Marketing. The Desk Manager aids in the day-to-day operations and plays a key role to ensure a great a great Member Services experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with hiring of Member Services Representatives as required
  • At the beginning of the term assign shifts to each employee and observe performance to ensure adherence to Prism operating procedures
  • During the beginning of the term, perform buddy shifts with new hires to ensure they are comfortable and well-trained in their roles
  • Work regular desk shifts throughout the term as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of the lab and desk space
  • Work with the marketing department to promote efficient inter-departmental communication
  • Answer members’ inquiries
  • Assist with Member Services representatives training and skill development by aiding the Vice President of Member Relations with running orientation
  • Attend all weekly Member Services and Executive meetings and make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation
  • Purchase small pieces of equipment as needed
  • Order supplies and maintain the supplies stock
  • Work with the IT Manager to maintain the rental equipment

Job Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Must have previous experience as Member Services Representative at Prism Resources
  • Must be committed to continuous improvement within Prism Resources
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with minimal instruction without compromising deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and complete tasks individually
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills with excellent ability to prioritize
  • Previous experience within a leadership or managerial role is an asset
  • Must have basic technological knowledge and willingness to further this knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with the Prism Resources team, Prism Resources members, Board members, Lazaridis School faculty and staff
  • Approachable and open to constructive criticism
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle team conflicts and member concerns
  • Takes initiative and is deadline driven

Average # of Hours/Week: 10-12

Salary: $16/hr
